Why I Love My Pantry (and Glass Jars)

I absolutely love my pantry. But more than that—I love organizing my pantry. There’s something so satisfying about having everything in one place, clearly labeled, easy to find, and displayed in clean, crisp glass jars. It brings me a little spark of joy every time I open the door.

When we were redoing our pantry, I knew from the start that I wanted it to be more than just shelves and storage. I wanted it to be functional and beautiful. I took the time to create zones for different types of items—baking supplies, snacks, canned goods—but my favorite section of all is the pasta station.

There’s just something special about pasta. The variety of shapes and sizes, the textures, and the way they all look stored in matching containers—it’s visually beautiful and makes meal prep so much easier.

I use tall square glass jars with bamboo lids for storing long pasta like spaghetti, fettuccine, or linguine. They stack nicely and keep everything fresh. For shorter pasta like penne, fusilli, or rigatoni, I use smaller square jars. They line up perfectly and are easy to grab when I’m cooking dinner.

And let’s not forget the classic locking mason jars. These are perfect for storing tiny pastas like orzo, acini di pepe, or ditalini. I love the timeless look of these jars, and they work well in almost any kitchen style.

Organizing my pantry this way has made cooking easier, grocery shopping simpler (I can see what I have at a glance), and honestly—it just makes me happy every time I open that door.
